Our commitment to whistle blowers and victims

This sections outlines our overall approach in working with a whistle blower.

  • You will be treated without judgment, and with respect at all times.
  • If you say stop, we stop, meaning you will be in control of any reports that you make, meaning that a report can be made to us, but not then taken further, until we have further instruction.
  • The whistle blower is in charge of their communication options, from no further contact from the BLWB team, to allowing emails or phones calls.
  • On the first report you will be given a password to identify yourself, if you make contact again.
  • All reports will be treated in strict confidence, with the name of those making the allegations not available externally to the BLWB, or even available to all of the BLWB team.
  • We recognise that an anonymous report can often lead to the individual being identified, we will actively work with them on the most appropriate way forward.
  • We appreciate that a whistle blower may need additional support services, including counselling, and we will aim facilitate that support.
